Biosecurity Tasmania Invites ETAS Horse Owners to Join ERT Pilot Program
Equestrian Tasmania has been invited by Biosecurity Tasmania to share an opportunity for horse owners to participate in the pilot of the Equine Registration and Traceability (ERT) System Tasmania.
Funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas), this project is testing a digital traceability system designed to strengthen horse identification and movement tracking across the state.
About the ERT System
The free ERT app allows owners to:
-
Register horses and create a digital ‘passport’
-
Record movements between events, trails, shows, race meetings and any Tasmanian PIC-registered property
-
Maintain accurate, accessible traceability information
The pilot will help refine the system before a broader rollout, and feedback from participating horse owners is a key part of this process.
Need a PIC?
If you don’t currently have a Property Identification Code (PIC), the project team will assist with processing applications via the existing approval pathway.
